THE SYSTEM: A FUSION OF INTERDEPENDENT TECHNOLOGIES THAT SUPPORT SUCCESSFUL ROCKER PERFORMANCE
Make no mistake, rocker represents a completely different approach to snowboard design. It requires a total rethink of long held ideas of how flex, materials, and shape interact and affect performance. In response, Arbor developed The System to address the new physics of riding rocker. In our opinion, the award winning “System” has proven itself to be the best rocker design yet offered. As a result, we’ve expanded our offering to 6 models across three distinct technology combinations.
Grip-Tech: an unblended tri-radial sidecut design that creates four additional contact points under your feet for signifigantly improved, more direct edge control. Grip-Tech counters the effect of rockering (de-cambering) which, if not addressed, can make a board difficult to control. It adds this performance in a simple, more balanced manner that maintains the rocker benefits of easier turning, spins, slides, presses, and butters. In addition, Grip-Tech makes flat-boarding across hard packed snow more comfortable. The placement of the new contact points underfoot also allows riders with larger feet (up to US men’s size 12.5) to ride standard width designs. (JIB, PARK, MOUNTAIN)
Parabolic Rocker: A ROCKER DESIGN BASED ON THE PARABOLIC ARC; FURTHER IMPROVES EDGE CONTROL, WHILE MAINTAINING A UNIFORM RUNNING SURFACE TIP TO TAIL. PARABOLIC ROCKER MELLOWS THE AMOUNT OF REVERSE CAMBER AS YOU MOVE TOWARD THE TIPS, KEEPING THE OUTSIDE CONTACT POINTS CLOSER TO THE SNOW, WHICH ALLOWS THEM TO ENGAGE WHEN MORE EDGE IS NEEDED. THE PARABOLIC DESIGN, WHEN COMBINED WITH GRIP TECH, DELIVERS MORE CONTROL THAN CAMBER/ROCKER/CAMBER SHAPES, AND DOES IT WITHOUT SACRIFICING ANY OF THE SPIN, BUTTER, PRESS, TURN, OR RELEASE BENEFITS OF A TRUE ROCKER DESIGN. (JIB, PARK & MOUNTAIN SYSTEMS)
Rocker Flex: a rocker specific flex pattern designed to address how riders experience board flex when shredding a de-cambered design. (JIB, PARK & MOUNTAIN SYSTEMS) Power Spine: a structural tapered spine of wood that counters the effect of de-cambering by re-building board pop, while maintaining the maximum rocker benefits of easier turning, spins, slides, presses, and butters. (JIB SYSTEM)
Power Ply: a structural ply of wood or bamboo that counters the effect of de-cambering by signifigantly improving return, while maintaining the rocker benefits of easier turning, spins, slides, presses, and butters. (PARK & MOUNTAIN SYSTEMS)
True-Twin: a twin-tip shape that encourages riders to equalize their stance and more effectively activate the Grip-Tech contact points and Street Rocker design. (JIB & PARK SYSTEMS)
Directional-Twin: a directional-twin shape that encourages riders to equalize their stance and more effectively activate the Grip-Tech contact points and Street Rocker design, with some added nose for riding deeper snow. (MOUNTAIN SYSTEM)
Robusto Tips: a wider, blunt shape and flat kick design that meets the needs of a rocker nose and tail’s more specialized role as platforms for presses and butters. (JIB SYSTEM)
Corona-Tips: a wider, slightly less blunt shape and flat kick design that meets the needs of a rocker nose and tail’s role as platforms for presses and butters, with some added nose length for riding deeper snow. (PARK SYSTEM)
Toro-Tips: a wider, more drawn out design that meets the needs of a rocker nose and tail’s role as platforms for presses and butters, with the most amount of added nose length for riding the deepest powder. (MOUNTAIN SYSTEM) Sumo-Stance: an insert design that delivers increased stance range, allowing riders to access smaller boards and maintain street and park oriented rocker-performance – max stance: 25.2″/64cm. (JIB & PARK SYSTEMS)
Bella-Stance: a women’s specific insert design that delivers increased stance range, allowing riders to access smaller boards for park oriented rocker-performance – max stance: 23.1″/59cm. (PARK SYSTEM)
Mountain-Stance: an insert design that delivers increased stance range, allowing riders to access smaller boards for versatile rocker-performance, without the need to sacrifice set-back options for powder – max stance: 24.4″/62cm. (MOUNTAIN SYSTEM)
Bronze Edges: softer edges that deliver less catchy performance on rails, boxes, and jibs; balances the active edge performance created by the Parabolic Rocker and Grip Tech designs. (JIB SYSTEM)
Steel Edges: harder steel edges that add to the active edge performance created by the Parabolic Rocker and Grip Tech designs; helps further improve edge control for on mountain rocker shredding. (PARK & MOUNTAIN SYSTEMS)

Rocker technology that actually works is really fun to ride.
Arbor needs to do more of this.
this thing is sick. the concept, the construction, the graphic – there isn’t a better rocker on the market.

This was the best board I rode at the On Snow Demo up in Mammoth. Can’t wait to get my hands on one this year. When do they drop in stores?
Love the move toward a better rocker tech. Too bad the graphics suck so hard on the women’s boards. Best looking one is the Eden and it’s the bottom of the barrel. My wife was really interested in a Push until she saw this years lineup. Horrid. Especially compared to their previous offerings. Boo Arbor.
ch ch check it out

that board is sick. what’s up with all the rocker though. is Arbor still going to make some camber boards too?
as for the art direction, i think it’s insane! that guy Yoskay on the Push is so good. i was at his last art show in Culver City, so sick. i think my favorite is the Wasteland though. how do they cut all those little pieces of wood so accurately. truly art.
i bet its laser cut or something. i cant imagine any person would be able to put it together like that. rocker is way better than camber anyway. i think arbor should make more rocker boards…
GhostintheToast must be even more blind than his super blind wife. the women’s lineup is insane this year. HURRAY ARBOR!!!
the watercolors on the Edens white wood, an actual SYLVIA JI piece for the Cadence and some birds with bananas from Yoskay Yamamoto for the Push….that guy’s too much WaytoocoolforSchool!!!! It must be so sweet to be so sweet.
check some of Yoskay’s other stuff:

i just got one in at my shop, wtf, what a rip off of freaking lib tech, make your own tech, wanna be magnatraction, plus now everyone is jumping in on the rocker craze, i mean, why not support the dudes that invented magnatraction and buy a lib? maybe its just me and maybe ill change my mind after i demo this, who knows
ps- wtf happened to arbor’s graphics this year?!
Hello there Carbon Scooby,
Marvin deserves a lot of credit for their technology innovations. There is no doubt about that. Arbor has also been an innovative leader in eco-technology. We encourage other companies to take our lead and use and even improve on our technology and I believe the designers at Mervin feel the same way. It’s of vital importance in the world of innovation to have companies tweak on and improve upon technology created by other companies. It’s called the progression or evolution of products.
If you are the owner or manager of a shop or even just work their, I’d hope you’d be more open minded. If you only think people should support and buy Lib Tech then why do you carry other brands? We hope you’ll give the Draft a try before you make up your mind. The folks at SIA and Snow Press did and they gave it their “Innovation of the Year Award” and the folks at Outside Magazine did and their testers decided it was the best snowboard of the year and gave it their “Gear of the Year Award.”
Also, I happen to really like Lib Tech and was a loyal rider of the TRice board for several years. Last year, when I started working with Arbor, I was actually concerned about giving up my Lib but after I rode the new Draft I was sold. The technologies are similar but there are substantial differences.
As for the graphics comment, we’ll just have to agree to disagree on that one. We feel that this is by far the strongest graphic representation for Arbor.

I really really want to test this baby out!
Im stoked Arbor went beyond the trend of reverse camber and took a complete new and revolutionary approach to the design!
Looks sick!
I take it the Draft is the only rockered board. Any others in the lineup. Am looking for an all mountain board thats good in the steeps and deep such as Mott’s Canyon at Heavenly, Casper Bowl at Jackson etc. Looks like you have the Draft mapped for mainly park. How does the rockered technology do off the trails?
We designed the Draft to be JIB specific, but the System ended up working so well that the boards getting ridden all over – powder, steeps, groomers, etc. The board is an all-mountain machine. Critical edge hold and all the benefits of rocker.
the artwork rocks!!!
i just discovered you guys and i am stoked you exist.
gonna pick up a board on tuesday if all goes well…
dude, can’t wait for the system to hit more boards. that shit rocks! well done Arbor
Was up snowboarding last year at Monarch and I was getting stuck on the flat surfaces of the mountain and wondering how all the guys around me were jumping their boards around until they could get going again. Now I know what kind of board they must have had and sure would like to get one. Thanks so much for the rocker technology and the eco friendly product you provide, the designs and artwork on your boards surpass what is out there!!!
I ride mainly park but do like to hit some steeper terrain . What kind of edge bevel would you folks recommend for this board? Also if I detune between the magnetraction edges for rails and boxes would edge hold be severely comprimised? Perhaps I should just go with a 1-2 deg bevel.
This is really helpful because I’m writing a research report and it helps with the shaping part section!
Sounds like this board is pretty sick, I cant wait to pick mine up on Friday I just put 100 down on it. Im stoked dude it sounds like the perfect board: Jib specific, all mountain machine, edge hold, powder and steep capability, and tons of pop. Cant get much better than that!
I WANT TO WIN FREE ARBOR STUFF!
Just by reading this I learned a lot, having never snowboarded before.
This stuff is pretty nifty. I would really like to learn how to snowboard at some point.
I WANT TO WIN FREE ARBOR STUFF!!
I want to win free Arbor stuff. =D
The Koa Slater is my favorite board in the whole Arbor collection!
I want to win free Arbor stuff!
