Venice, CA – February 20, 2009 – Arbor Snowboards is proud to announce that Pat Milbery has joined its team as the newest member of the Arbor Collective.  Pat grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota, the land of hills, ice and tow ropes. It was there that he built up a strong tolerance for icy landings and battered tailbones, which helped make him the well-rounded rider that he is today. In 2001, Pat relocated to Breckenridge, Colorado where he stepped up his game in the mighty Rocky Mountains.  Pat now lives in Denver, Colorado and calls Winter Park his home resort.

“I couldn’t be more stoked to have a guy like Pat Milbery on the Arbor team,” said Arbor Team Manager, Ken Perkins. “He gives brings amazingly positive energy on and off the hill.  Pat is the hardest working guy in snowboarding.”

Milbery has been filming for Think Thank, with parts in Stack Footy and Thanks Brain, and he is now shooting for their new release, Cool Story.  “I linked up with Jesse Burtner and Sean Genoveese of Think Thank about three years ago,” says Milbery. “They respect my creativity and they’re open to my nontraditional approach to film parts.  They are changing the way snowboard movies are made a little more each season, and I’m happy to be a part of it.”

Milbery’s hard work has landed him in the pages of publications such as Transworld Snowboarding and Snowboarder Magazine.  He is currently the host for a daily television show for RSN called the “Local’s Show.”  He also writes a monthly columns for Japan based Snowstyle magazine and Colorado’s All Us magazine.

Pat has never abandoned his Midwest roots and gives back to the community through his camps. Pat will be helping run two more Mighty Midwest Snowboard Camps this season in Michigan and New Mexico. Milbery employs a laid back coaching method as he focuses on the next generation of snowboarders. “Hopefully I can inspire a few kids and possibly even slow down the “Super-Pro” career objective and show kids a simplistic, grounded approach, based more on having fun snowboarding,” said Pat.

Signing with Arbor could not have been better timed, as it coincides with the development of their new Draft snowboard. “I’m excited about Arbor’s new Draft deck because it’s their first freestyle design board that has been engineered for jib-specific and urban riding, yet still rips in the backcountry,” said Milbery.

“Pat has incredible skills as a rider, with an ability to get the shot every time and get it with a unique perspective,” says Perkins. “I’m excited to get to know him better as a rider, friend and as part of the Arbor family.”

There’s no doubt that Milbery is one of the most dedicated snowboarders out there right now, and he isn’t afraid to offer some words of wisdom: “Work hard, give high fives, get weird, and keep charging,” says Milbery. “I realize life is a very temporary thing so every second of every day matters.”
