Within what they feel is their best offering to date, Arbor brings to market proven designs from the Icon Rocker Collection which utilize “The System” set of technologies including the Draft, Cadence and Westmark along with the all-new Blacklist. In addition, Arbor delivers the Icon Camber Collection with the Del Rey and the all-new Relapse and Poparazzi boards. Arbor also continues to stay true to their past by delivering the Roots Camber Collection featuring many of the snowboards that helped launch the brand including the A-Frame, Element CX, Roundhouse CX and the Push. And now they present, the Roots Rocker Collection which utilizes “The System” a set of technologies in the Element RX, Roundhouse RX, Coda, Formula and the all-new, Swoon, along side the flagship of the brand, the Wasteland. “We continue to expand out our true-rocker snowboard offering while maintaining our best camber options,” says Arbor co-owner, Bob Carlson. “The Icon and Roots Collections offer a variety of solid snowboard options for the jib and park scene and the all-mountain freeride customer.”

Arbor offers “The System” to provide riders with an amazing amount of edge hold in a rocker design that preserves the full range of performance associated with true-rocker shapes. “We did this by perfecting the true-rocker profile (Parabolic Rocker), while building in real edge control through a unique sidecut (Grip-Tech),” says Carlson. “In our opinion, the award winning “System” has proven to be the best rocker design yet offered.”

Arbor is 100-percent committed to producing the highest quality Austrian-made snowboards with new technology that truly provides the best riding experience for snowboarders. “For Arbor, it’s not about jumping on bandwagons, it’s about engineering, research and development and delivering products that work,” says Carlson.

The Arbor Collective is proud to announce that its 2009/10 women’s snowboard collection has received two major honors. Backcountry Magazine has named the Arbor Push as the winner of their prestigious “Editor’s Choice Award,” while the Cadence has received Transworld Snowboarding Magazine’s “Good Wood Award.”

“This is great for the Arbor Collective,” says co-founder, Bob Carlson. “On the heels of the Draft winning Outside Magazine’s ‘Gear Of The Year Award’ and SnowPress and SIA’s ‘Innovation Award,’ these two additional awards add tremendous weight to the success story of our new design team and strategy.”

Backcountry Magazine’s “Editor’s Choice Award”
According to the Backcountry editorial staff, the Push performed extremely well at the annual Backcountry snowboard test, held in March at Crested Butte, Colorado. This popular women’s snowboard received outstanding tester response, exceptionally high scores, and category-leading overall performance. “As the backcountry snowboarding publication in North America, we don’t make endorsements frivolously, and the Arbor Push stood out in an incredibly strong field,” says the Backcountry editorial staff. The complete review of the Push can be found in the September Backcountry Gear Guide.

The Arbor Push
The Push was designed for women who surf mountains. A structural bamboo topsheet, directional shape, and enhanced flex provide energetic initiation, reliable control, and the ability to express a clean line in every condition. All the freeride finesse a rider needs to reach the limits of her big-mountain chi.

The Push Artist Collaboration With Yoskay Yomamoto
Yoskay Yamamoto is a self-trained illustrator born and raised in Toba, Japan who moved to the United States at the age of 15. Yamamoto’s distinct style is based on a combination of two different cultural backgrounds including nostalgically blending pop-iconic characters from his new western home with traditional and mythical Japanese elements from his Asian heritage. Yamamoto’s urban pop art is a perfect fit for the natural components and design elements that come together to create the Arbor Push.

Transworld Snowboarding Magazine “Good Wood Award”
The Arbor Cadence topped Transworld Snowboarding’s women’s over $400 category beating out several top name brands in their annual snowboard test held in April at Breckenridge, Colorado. Here is what a few of the testers had to say:

“Good pop, great flex for smooth butters. Dankies! P.S. I think I ollied super high⎯highest of the day!”

“Surprisingly fun and flexy board. Nice flex longitudinally and laterally.”

“I really like this snowboard. I felt like I could press pretty well, and it was also poppy enough.”

The Arbor Cadence
The Cadence is designed for women who take a park-inspired set of skills to the whole mountain, a no compromise directional-twin that supports spin tricks, rail sessions, and slope style cruising. A structural bird’s eye maple top creates a fun disposition, light-touch initiation, and lively return.

The Cadence Artist Collaboration With Sylvia Ji
Sylvia Ji was born and raised in San Francisco, California, where she received her BFA at the Academy of Art University. Ji’s work encapsulates an alluring beauty that is cutting-edge and a nod to time-honored technique. Her paintings are symbolic reflections of herself, portraits of people she knows or nameless faces set in a landscape of fleeting and decaying beauty. Sylvia Ji released the piece that graces the top of the women’s Cadence in her 2008 collection titled Por Vida. Arbor felt that was the perfect match for the temperament of the new Cadence design.

ABOUT THE ARBOR COLLECTIVE: Arbor was founded in 1995 on the assertion that solutions to many of today’s most difficult snow, skate, and apparel design challenges exist in the natural world. For 14 years, Arbor has built on the belief of replacing environmentally harmful materials with ecologically based, natural alternatives. Arbor’s goal is to create a higher level of function and relevance in the most responsible way possible. The end result must be improved style and performance, with significantly reduced impact on the environment. “We all need clean air to skate, clean water to surf, and snow to ride…”
