“I have been to ski towns all over Europe, South America, Canada and the United States and I have to say that Las Trancas, Chilé is truly a special place,” says Arbor northwest regional rider, Byron Bagwell. “Never before have I felt so connection with locals. They actually want to show us the flavor of their town, their life and their secret stashes. Nevados de Chillan is the resort near Las Trancas. This place is truly a gem with endless wind lips, cornices, natural hits, trees and steeps–there’s no lack of riding to be done. Three volcanoes surround the area making for picturesque scenery and easily accessible terrain. Hosteria Los Nirres Hostel has been our home for 12 days and we have been welcomed in as part of the family. It’s operated by a family that loves to laugh, smile and occasionally talk shit–it’s great. This is where many of the shreds who live throughout Chilé hang there heads when they visit Las Trancas. We are lucky to have found it and I’d recommend this place to anyone seeking an authentic experience,” said Bagwell.

Bagwell and the crew are down today but there is snow in the forecast and more Arbor prototype 2010/11 snowboards to test.
