The Arbor Snowboard’s FACE/OFF event took place at Bear Mountain and featured riders such as Scotty Vine, Nick Visconti, Ian Sams, Eli Weiner, Sean Black, Brandon Hammid, Austin Young, Sammy Spiteri, Erik Leon and more than 90 competitors.
Arbor Snowboards held their first-ever rail competition at Bear Mountain on Saturday, March 5th called the FACE/OFF. This unique event included an 75 minute jam session on several terrain features and rails in Bear Mountain’s The Scene base area terrain park. The jam was following up by a Sweet 16 bracket FACE/OFF which pitted 16 of the best riders from the jam session in games of SNOW similar to a game of PIG in basketball. These one on one battles raged down until only two riders remained. In the end, brand new Arbor regional team rider, Erik Leon won the war taking home $600, a new snowboard, a set of bindings and all sorts of other prizes. Arbor premiers Bear Mountain’s Parkumentary and Think Thank’s Cool Story to a packed house.
The party was on at the Arbor headquarters in Venice.
On Friday, November 13th and Saturday, November 14th, Arbor hosted the West Los Angeles premier of Bear Mountain’s new movie, Parkumentary and Think Thank’s latest release, Cool Story. Snowboarders from all over coastal LA descended on Arbor’s Venice headquarters for one of the biggest “pray for snow†parties in the area. The free beer flowed from Pyramid Brewery and Pabst as the films played and the DJ’s popped. Snowboards, skateboards, apparel, bindings, magazine subscriptions and lift tickets from Arbor, Flux, Snowboarder Magazine, Bear Mountain, and Snow Summit were raffled off to dozens of lucky winners. Honest Tea kicked down liquid for the kids and the designated drivers. The house was packed for another great Arbor event and good times where had by all. The success of this event guarantees that the snow will now come in feet so get ready!
