Arbor's Shaping Ethos
Grip Tech + Parabolic Profiling
The system shaping philosophy underpins the design of every snowboard in our line. It allows us to create advanced true-rocker and true-camber designs. As a result we preserve all of the inherent riding benefits of these proven platforms by avoiding hybridization. Two distinct technologies make this possible:

Grip Tech

Grip Tech creates added heel and toe contact points that dramatically improve edge control on snow and ice. The design creates a more ergonomic and direct connection to the snow for substantially improved handling and response time. The Added contact points make it possible for Arbor to offer Rocker designs that hold an amazing edge and Camber designs that provide cleaner edge performance.

Arbor System Grip Tech

Parabolic Profiling

We use a unique shaping technique that replaces the single radius arc found in traditional camber or rocker with a more advanced parabolic profile. The design blends five separate radii together to create a parabolic arc which gradually reduces the amount of rocker or camber toward the tip and tail. In our System Rocker shapes the design lowers the leading edge to improve edge hold. In our System Camber shapes the design makes the leading edge less aggressive for smoother performance. The blended five radii design also drastically improves our ability to tune each shape in our line for ability level, target terrain and riding style.

System Camber
Arbor System Parabolic Profiling

Our System Camber shapes are for riders who want:

  • A highly responsive ride, crisp on-edge performance and more pop for carving and ollies
  • Effortless true-camber performance across all types of snow and during turns, spins and landings
Complete the system with Arbor System X Bindings

The System X Baseplate

FOUND ON ALL ARBOR BINDINGS
  • A proprietary design that transfers rider input out to four heel-to-toe convergence zones, improving edge controls and response time.
  • A concave design allows a board to flex more seamlessly by reducing flat spots for improved edge performance.
  • When paired with an Arbor Snowboard, the System X design improves the activation of Arbor's Grip Tech contact points.
  • This unique binding / board interaction provides maximum performance at speed, in steeps, amd through any turn, carve or spin.

Fender Tech

The edge control created by Arbor's System platform allows us to add Fenders that slightly lift a board's leading edge off the snow. This dramatically improves turning, spins, float and tracking on cambered snowboards.

Unlike "early rise" or "rockered" nose/tail transition zone, Arbor's Fenders create smoother performance without shortening the camber section of the board. As a result, you get a clean ride without any loss of the pop or performance that comes from full-length camber. Today, we use Fenders on the majority of our System Camber designs.

An A-Frame Saved My Life!

"I rode an Arbor Roundhouse for about 10 years and was happy, but… So, I experimented with a Capita Warpspeed. I bought into a bit of hype about its stabilization, power and speed. Three lackluster days on the mountain and I realized I had made a mistake. Luckily, I found the A-Frame , hoping it would ride like my old Roundhouse or better. Happy to share that it delivered in a big way. Stability, maneuverability, speed, control, feel, good looks and fun! Lesson learned… I will be riding Arbor boards until the end. Fan for life!"

"Loving this board!!!"

Incredible high speed carver!

"I'm 54 years old, 6'3" about 220 lbs and I've been riding since the late 1980s, mostly on Burton boards, though I have a hardboot Alpine set up I bring out from time to time, I love to carve. In the last few years my son has started riding seriously and last year I figured it was time to update my soft boot setup so I can ride with him. After reading a bunch of reviews, I picked up a 170W A-Frame directly from Arbor, got about 12 days on it last winter, and it is awesome. Fast, stable, predictable, and really holds an edge when you tip it over. Great all mountain board and I love the way it looks. If you care about this sort of thing, it is the only board that I've owned that is consistently complimented on lift lines."

Exceptional board

"I purchased the A-Frame board from Arbor last summer to replace my previous Burton board, and after one season with this snowboard, I must say it's the best board I have ever ridden. In my experience, I have already spent 25 days on the slopes, and the A-Frame has proven itself to be exceptional on groomed slopes, powder days, and in the woods, with impressive stability at both low and high speeds. I would highly recommend this board to anyone looking for a high-performance snowboard. Moreover, I have been thoroughly impressed with Arbor as a company, with their strong focus on customer satisfaction. Their support is, in my experience, the best I have ever seen."

Phenomenal most advance board I have ever ridden

"6’1’, 175 lbs. size 12 shoe. Crested Butte, CO Always had used boards. My Burton completely fell apart after 1.5 seasons. The aframe is a beast. Love those fancy heel and toe edges, really smooths put the transitions from edge to edge. And that carbon fiber aframe behind the back foot is like a 6th gear. Stable at high speeds, 50-60 mph, clocked. You won’t regret getting the wallet out for this beauty.."

King is dead long live the king!

"Was riding a 07/08 model A-Frame till this winter. It was gorgeous to look at and ride fast and aggressive carving as well. Got the new 22/23 which is as gorgeous and of course technically light years ahead… the ride is epic!!! The only negative side from this artwork is inevitable top sheet scratches and side bumps. Am never buying anything else but the king A-Frame!!!"

TRULY EXCEPTIONAL!!!!

"Background - Fifth year of snowboarding, 6'3", 228 lbs., size 14 boots, 24.5 inch regular stance, +15 and 0 degrees ON THIS BOARD. Without question, the A-Frame is probably one of the most under-rated snowboards in the industry. Three years after I learned to snowboard, I hit a wall, and was having some trouble progressing, especially in terms of confidence at higher speeds. I bought an A-Frame based on some extensive research, all I can say is that within the first thirty seconds on this deck, I finally knew what it felt like to be on a stable high performance board, it was unreal. This thing is absolutely exceptional in every way, and it does what it was designed to do, provide a stable platform to tear down the mountain on groomers or powder, it handles ice well, it absolutely screams when you lean into it, and it is great for the back country. I own seven boards, the A-Frame is by far my favorite, it is my go-to, it is aesthetically speaking, the board looks great on the website, but it is beyond description when you see it in person, and I love the environmental approach of Arbor. My only wish is that Arbor would add carbon up front. If you are looking for a well designed and well engineered stable deck that offers high performance, this one is definitely worth it."

Q&A

When will new models of the A-Frame be available? The size I want is sold out everywhere it seems.
Hi there, Unfortunately, there are no plans for a restock, and the current inventory is what we have for the remainder of the season. Our 24/25 models are set to arrive Oct/Nov.
